Election Hustings – Update

(This is a follow-up from the original post…)

Election hustings for the St Neots and Mid Cambs constituency are happening on Monday 24th June, at 7:30pm in St Andrew’s. Doors open at 7pm and refreshments will be served beforehand, so do come along early!

Getting here and access

Details of where we are are on the Contact Us page. There’s parking at the Parish Council car park next door and on the streets nearby. Step-free access is available via the path round to the back of the church.

The Format

After a few words of introduction each candidate will have 3 minutes to introduce themselves and set out their stall.

When everyone has said hello the chair, Michael, will put questions to the candidates who will each have 1 minute to answer.

To finish, each candidate will get 2 minutes to offer some closing comments.

We’ll be taking an informal poll of those who come to assess how the event went. Attendees will have a chance to say who they plan to vote for as a result of the hustings, as well as which candidate they thought was most impressive. Results to be published here!

Asking a question

If you want to ask a question then there’ll be slips of paper available when you arrive. These questions will then be filtered to ensure a range of topics are tackled and that questions are fairly phrased. If you can’t be there on the night then you can email a question in advance, but priority will be given to questions submitted by those present on the night.

Can’t be there on the night?

The hustings will be broadcast live on YouTube at this link. You can either watch live or catch up later on at your convenience…
