About St Andrew’s

St Andrew’s Church is the Church of England parish church for the village of Girton.

We welcome all to our services, but the church building is also open daily (roughly 9am-4pm) for private prayer and reflection.

As a church our primary purpose is to worship God and seek to follow the way of Christ in our daily lives. We don’t always get it right, but we try to learn and grow together.

We encourage local Christians to support us as the local church. We are willing to change and to support and to embrace new gifts. As a church, a great strength is the commitment our members have towards one another and the informal pastoral care that is offered within the community. Whether you’ve been a Christian all your life or are just exploring faith you can be assured of a warm welcome from a community seeking God together.

We take the authority of Scripture seriously but not woodenly and adhere to tradition insofar as it is relevant for the wider contemporary community of which we are a part.

We offer a variety of regular services, alongside seasonal and occasional service at key points of the year.

Services apart, we have a host of other groups within the life of the church. See the our church section of the website for further information.
