Children and Families
Children are warmly welcome at St Andrew's and are a vital part of our life together as a church. We want children to feel like valued members of the church community and to contribute to who we are.
There are various activities for children and families at the church. Please get in touch with the Rector if you want to know more.
St Andrew's for Kids (StA4K)
Our Sunday School (StA4K) runs on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays of the month. The children go out into the North Room at the start of the service and come back at the end in time to receive Holy Communion (or a blessing if preferred). Most of the children are primary-aged and enjoy Bible stories, craft, songs and snacks together.
On the 2nd Sunday of the month we have All-Age worship. Our aim is to get children involved in what's going on, and they often read the Bible or offer our intercessions on the 2nd Sunday.
Our Choir Church meets on Tuesday afternoons (3:45-4:30pm, but with 15 minutes of biscuits and drinks beforehand!). This is open to any KS2 children who want to learn to sing, and they are taught by Richard (our Musical Director). The group sing at a public evening service every couple of months.
Children from at least 3 different local primary schools comes along, and new members are always welcome!
We run a Parent and Toddler group on Tuesday mornings (10-11:30am) at the Cotton Hall, next door to the church. All are welcome to bring under-5s for free play, followed by a Bible story, craft and song. More info about Bobtails is available on the Bobtails website.
